It Must Be Spring

Spring is in the air! It makes one think of flowers and gardens, and what goes better with a garden than those ever present garden gnomes? They pop up everywhere once the snow melts. Here are a couple that have popped up in my papercutting lately.
I used watercolors for the color on these. I think the soft tones of the watercolors go well with the bold black lines of the papercut.

April ATC

This month's ATC theme is windows. It took me a while to come up with something for this one. While looking around on the internet for ideas, I saw a picture of a town as seen thru an old glass window. I cut my ATC to look like one of those old windows that you expect to see on a Tudor style house in England. Behind the cut I placed a photo that I took on my trip to England a year and a half ago. I made five with a different English photo with each. This one has a picture of Big Ben on it.

A Fairy Tale for April

In my quest to make illustrations of fairy tales that give a slightly look at the familiar stories, I came up with to go along with the story of Snow White. Here is the wicked queen contemplating how to get rid of Snow White for good. It looks like she has just grabbed an apple out of the bowl of fruit on the table. What can she be thinking?
