Steppin' On Cracks

I just finished this a few days ago. It is based on a picture that I took of my two girls walking home from school a couple of months ago. I found the background paper with cracked concrete on it at a scrapbook store and thought it would work well. My youngest has been trying hard the last couple of weeks not to step on any cracks and seams on the sidewalks on the way home. My husband came up with the title.

I Shear Sheep

Okay, I didn't shear them, But I did cut them from a piece of brown paper. There are some papercutters out there in the wide world who cut their art with sheep shears. I am in awe of them. I was looking at a painting that my grandfather painted of some sheep grazing in the red rocks of Southern Utah the other week, and I challenged myself to create a papercut based on that painting. Here is the result. Overall, I am liking it. Some of the rocks leave me scratching my head. Rocks can be hard to cut and still have them look like rocks. I like how the sheep blend into their surroundings and make you really look for them. I may not be the artist my grandfather was, but I like tho think I am getting better. I wish I could have taken some lessons from him.

March's ATC

"When the Rabbit actually took a watch out of its waistcoat-pocket, and looked at it, and then hurried on, Alice started to her feet, for it flashed across her mind that she had never before seen a rabbit with either a waistcoat-pocket, or a watch to take out of it, and burning with curiosity, she ran across the field after it." Lewis Carroll
This month's ATC theme is "My Favorite Clock". I don't know that I have a favorite clock. How many people out there have a favorite clock? " Alice in Wonderland" isn't my favorite book either, but I thought the pocket watch the White Rabbit carries with him would make an interesting subject for my ATCs. So here you go.

Are You Real?

How would you react to the sudden appearance of a troll on your pleasant morning stroll? I don't think that this would be mine. There are some things that you probably should think twice about touching.
